GENM Terms of Service

  1. Acceptance
    These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of genm.com and its tools, pages, articles, emails, embeds, share images and related services (together, the "Service"). The Service is operated by Zemria LLC ("Zemria LLC," "GENM," "we," "us"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms, our Risk Disclosures, our Methodology Disclosures and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
  2. What GENM Is
    GENM is an independent publication. It turns publicly available data published by the U.S. Department of the Treasury into interactive tools, charts and articles, together with figures calculated from that data.
    GENM is not affiliated with or endorsed by the U.S. Department of the Treasury, the Federal Reserve or any government agency.
    GENM's content is general and impersonal. It is for information and education only and is not financial, investment, legal or tax advice. Zemria LLC is not a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer or commodity trading advisor. Nothing on the Service is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any security or to follow any strategy.
    Forward-looking dates and figures on GENM are illustrations under stated assumptions, or scenarios based on assumptions you set. They are not forecasts.
  3. Eligibility and Accounts
    You must be at least 18 years old and able to use the Service lawfully where you live. If you create an account, you agree to give accurate information, keep your login private and accept responsibility for activity under your account. Memberships are for one person and may not be shared or transferred unless we agree otherwise in writing. If you believe someone has accessed your account without permission, contact legal@genm.com promptly.
  4. Intellectual Property & Prohibited Uses
    4.1 What we own. GENM's tools, simulators and visualizers, including their designs, interfaces and code, are proprietary to Zemria LLC. Zemria LLC also owns GENM's text, articles, graphics, layouts, names and logos.
    4.2 Treasury data. The U.S. Department of the Treasury data shown on GENM is in the public domain in the United States, and Zemria LLC claims no ownership of that underlying data. You may obtain it directly from Treasury's own published sources. These Terms protect GENM's own tools, designs, code, text and figures calculated from that data, as presented on GENM.
    4.3 Your license. We give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable license to view and use the Service for your own information and education, under these Terms.
    4.4 Screenshots and sharing. Notwithstanding the restrictions in 4.5, you may share screenshots of GENM tools and pages, and use GENM's built-in share images and embeds, provided you credit GENM (genm.com), do not alter the figures shown, do not remove or crop out any labels, stamps, record dates or disclaimers, and do not imply that GENM endorses you or your content.
    4.5 Prohibited uses. Except as allowed in 4.4 or with our prior written permission, you may not:
    (a) republish, redistribute, sell or sublicense GENM content;
    (b) copy GENM's historical viewers, designs, interfaces or code, or use them to build a substantially similar service;
    (c) use scrapers, bots or other automated means to collect content or data from the Service, including its data endpoints, other than ordinary search engine indexing allowed by our robots.txt file;
    (d) use GENM content to train, fine-tune or evaluate artificial intelligence models, or to build a competing data service;
    (e) get around paywalls, access controls, rate limits or security measures;
    (f) present GENM content as your own, or change it in a way that alters its meaning;
    (g) present GENM's illustrations or scenarios to others as forecasts;
    (h) suggest that GENM or the U.S. Department of the Treasury endorses you, your content or your products; or
    (i) use the Service unlawfully or interfere with its operation.
  5. Commercial Use & Data Verification
    If you use data, tools or content from GENM in any commercial financial product, service or analytics, whether authorized under these Terms or by separate written agreement, you are solely responsible for independently verifying all data, and any figures calculated from it, against the original published sources of the U.S. Department of the Treasury before use.
  6. AI-Assisted Content
    Some GENM content, including the Weekly Data Article, is written with the help of artificial intelligence from Treasury data. It is published automatically after automated checks of its figures, wording and legal review items, and a person reviews it after publication. Despite these checks, AI-assisted content can contain errors. Figures are shown with their Treasury record dates and may later be revised by Treasury.
  7. Reader Contributions
    If the Service lets you submit content, such as comments, scenario settings or calls in features like GENM Lineage, you keep ownership of what you submit. You grant Zemria LLC a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, reproduce and share it on the Service and in connection with it. You are responsible for what you submit, and it must not be unlawful, defamatory, infringing or misleading, give investment advice, or promote any security. Reader calls, records and rankings are for reputation only. They involve no money, prizes or wagering, and they are not advice. We may remove any contribution at our discretion.
  8. Memberships and Billing
    GENM may offer free and paid memberships. Paid memberships are billed in advance through our payment processor and renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled. You may cancel at any time in your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period. Payments are not refunded for partial periods, except where the law requires. We may change prices with reasonable advance notice; a new price applies from your next renewal, and continuing your membership after that date means you accept it. Features included in each membership may change over time.
  9. Availability and Changes to the Service
    We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. Data on GENM depends on Treasury's publication schedule and may be delayed when Treasury publishes late, revises past figures or changes a dataset. Emails and notifications may be delayed or may not arrive.
  10. Disclaimers
    The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, Zemria LLC disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service or its data is accurate, complete, current, uninterrupted or free of errors. Nothing on the Service is a statement of what will happen in the future.
  11. Limitation of Liability
    To the fullest extent the law allows, Zemria LLC and its owners, employees and contractors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, investment losses, loss of data or loss of goodwill, arising from or related to your use of the Service, even if advised that such damages were possible.
  12. Indemnification
    You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Zemria LLC and its owners, employees and contractors from any third-party claim, loss or expense, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, unauthorized scraping or redistribution, or your commercial use of data, tools or content from GENM.
  13. Termination
    We may suspend or end your access to the Service, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms, scrape or redistribute content without permission, share your account, interfere with the Service's security or do not pay amounts owed. Sections 4, 5 and 10 through 16 continue after termination.
  14. Governing Law and Venue
    These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nebraska, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute related to the Service or these Terms will be brought only in the state or federal courts located in Lancaster County, Nebraska, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.
  15. Changes to These Terms
    We may update these Terms. Each update is posted on this page with a new version number and effective date. For material changes, we will also give notice on the Service or by email to members. Continuing to use the Service after an update takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
  16. General
    These Terms, together with our Risk Disclosures, Methodology Disclosures and Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Zemria LLC about the Service. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our not enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms; we may transfer ours in connection with a sale or reorganization of the business.
